Erker’s 1879 has introduced 12 new eyeglass models this spring, offering them in four to five color variations per, greatly increasing the variety of eyeglasses it offers. Their A.P. Collection, which was inspired by their founding father, Adolf P. Erker, who started the family business 145 years ago in downtown St. Louis, now has new frames with this release.
Seven of the new eyewear models include an acetate design with a hand-polishd, handmade metal wire core throughout the temple for a smooth, silky feel. The Erkers created all of the acetate color blends by hand, adding 11 new blends to their springtime eyeglass release. Like other acetate frames from the legacy brand, the front and temple are joined by a unique German hinge with real steel rivets that has an engraving of 1879 and a beveled pattern. These seven models add four women’s, one men’s, and two unisex frames to the collection, offering a broad variety of eyeglasses styles.
The metal frames of the remaining five pairs of spectacles are made with a steel front and a titanium temple, creating a sturdy yet lightweight design. Four of the new colorways are these slender metal spectacles, which combine natural metal tones with a variety of bolder colors. Their unique muted-modern color scheme is enhanced by traditional silhouettes, resulting in a modern yet classic look. Although the majority of the metal designs have feminine forms, there is one round eyeglasses and one unisex aviator available in a variety of neutral colorways.
Erkers1879 is a stand-alone, family-run company that manufactures fine, handmade eyewear. The Erkers, a St. Louis-based family business that has led the optical sector for more than 144 years and produced exquisite, fine eyewear for five generations, are known for their craftsmanship. The Erkers were once well-known for creating anything with a lens, but they eventually focused only on creating eyeglasses. Jack III and Tony Erkers, the fifth generation of Erkers, are currently in charge of the business. Visit their website, erkers1879.com, to view these as well as the whole Erkers1879 collection.
