Sometimes an unheard-of aim emerges when two architects who exhibit brilliance in their work come together and look for a meeting place. The Manalis jeweler Mose Mann and the titular optician Ludovic Elens were destined to cross paths. They both insist on excellence, tradition, craftsmanship, quality, and, on occasion, a little bit of daring that distinguishes them from one another and enables them to venture beyond of their comfort zones in their respective industries. These two extraordinary craftsmen have storied reputations. They surely came up with the idea for the object because it properly complemented each of their skills. a set of glasses with a jewelry-maker theme. Unprecedented artwork titled “The High Line” will appeal to admirers of both lovely frames and jewelry art.
It all starts with drawing, an important step that allows the team to analyze proportions, imagine the perfect shape, and already understand where the setup will go. Next came the first acetate prototype, which allowed them to visualize the piece in 3D.
Speaking the same language, the two craftspeople can accommodate each other’s technical needs. One of the key elements of control is the object’s weight; the glasses must be snug.
The choice of material comes next. It was essential for eyeglasses craftsman Ludovic to favor genuine materials that would flawlessly match the stones Manalys had selected. They selected Indian buffalo horns for this purpose. The optimum approach to blend it with the metal the jeweler required has to be determined. However, these are kept under wraps!
16-hand framed picture. Of course, everything is produced in the Brussels studio of LunetierLudovic and Manalys. The sculpture took longer than six months to finish. A precise job that pays close attention to even the tiniest detail! The other eight craftsmen in their various teams contributed their knowledge to the conception and execution of this exceptional piece, even if Ludovic Elens and Mose Mann were the ones who came up with the initial concept and improved it.
This one-of-a-kind masterpiece of art and craftsmanship is worth €39.00,000.
