About Acetate Renew

Eastman Acetate Renew incorporates a significant amount of certified recycled content from eyewear production waste, resulting in significant reductions in greenhouse gases compared to traditional manufacturing processes. Compared to conventional acetate, the acetate update has approximately 40% certified recycled content and 60% bio-based content, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel use.

Typically, 80% of the material used in the production of acetate frames is waste. Instead of ending up in landfills, waste materials are returned to Eastman and recycled into new materials, creating a circular production process. Unlike other sustainable alternatives, Acetate Renew is indistinguishable from classic Acetate, ensuring wearers have the high quality and premium style they’ve come to expect.
