The Traction collection takes the best of French design and pushes it further. The color combination is fresh and youthful. Rhinestones – yes! Dull shapes – never! This quote is more about revolution than evolution.
Since 1872, Traction has been creating truly unique eyewear through five generations of the same family. The concept of the collection is to combine California modernity with French sophistication. All products are designed and handmade in Paris, France.
The brand concept of TRACTION PRODUCTIONS comes from the rich professional knowledge accumulated over more than 150 years, combined with the in-depth understanding of French craftsmanship and technology to realize the brand’s unique imagination of eyewear design. Exquisite lens-making technology allows creativity to be freer and unrestricted, thereby creating fashionable and ground-breaking glasses.

The brand name of TRACTION PRODUCTIONS comes from Traction Avenue, a street in Los Angeles famous for its Arts District. The brand is inspired by California modernity and its free spirit to create unique eyewear styles.
Development history
Traction Productions is a brand of Maison de Lunetterie Victor Gros, a long-established company led by 5 generations of the same family. The company was founded in 1872 by Edouard Grosz in Hoyonnax, France, and initially produced hair accessories. As fashion developed, especially toward women with short hair, the company diversified its business and began producing eyeglasses from cellulose acetate in the 1930s.
From the day he took over the company, Thierry Gros, chief designer of Traction Productions, was interested in continuing the tradition of local manufacturing in Jura, Japan, the birthplace of eyewear manufacturing.
From the first collection in 1989 to today, there are no restrictions on the use of colors and shapes.
